Old School Smokes Box

As I posted in another thread I am refusing to smoke the new poisonous FSC Cigarettes so I have taken to pipe smoking and for the road I am home-rolling pipe tobacco cigarettes (smoking without inhale....ala Bill Clinton).
I had been carrying my smokes in an old Velvet Tobacco Tin but yesterday I found this neat looking old cigarette tin which fits the homerolls PERFECTLY!
Whatcha think? From my best research it was made in the forties or early fifties.

Quite nice! One of the local tobacconists' has a 'bar' area with a clear top showing a bunch of old pipes, sample tins of Dunhill tobacco, tins of cigarettes, etc. and that was there. A man who seemed to be in his mid-50s pointed that out to me and said that his older brother smoked those 'waaaay back in the day' so your estimate of the age may be correct.

I'd be alright if I still smoked because I live in Missouri and it looks like folks here get another year with the regular smokes.

Sort of sucks that they added something to cigarettes that makes them dangerous to smoke and not taste good.

FSC, another piece of liberal horse**** being shoved down my throat. I'll smoke what I want, when I want, where I want, thank you very much. Alas, I only smoke pipe and cigars a couple times a month. It's the principle that bothers the heck out of me.

Don Draper references Old Gold cigarettes in the first episode of Mad Men. Very cool find!

Been smoking pipe tobacco cigarettes for a few years now. I switched to pipes over 15 years ago and have not looked back. I, like you, carry them in an odd container, an old pipe tobacco tin. When the tin gets bent up I have plenty to choose from.
