Old School "Barber Shop" creams?

I seem to gravitate toward Ingram, Proraso green, and Musgo Real. I think it's the smells-like-a-barber shop appeal.

Can any one suggest some others to try?

TOBS Sandalwood really reminds me of the barbershop I used to go to as a kid. It's odd, I don't really have any particularly fond memories there or anything, but the smell makes me happy.

Smells are funny, often great, that way.

musgo real reminds me of "aftershave" that came in an Avon toy shaving kit when I was a little boy. I love that smell, discovered it quite by happenstance. Just makes me happy. :001_smile:001_smile

I agree. When it comes to creams I like

Ingram

Proraso to me is the one scent that takes me back to the 50's when my father and I would show up at Richard's Barber shop for the bi-weekly haircut. That, coupled with Pinaud Clubman is tantamount to time travel.

I can't believe it hasn't been mentioned. TOBS Shave Shop, the quintessential barbershop scent.

Erasmic Old Formula (Red Cap/Metal tube)

There are still some floating about. I found an independent pharmacy that stocked them, and bought their last two tubes they had under a set of new formula tubes, just the other day...

Glad that you found some! I bought a few tubes just after they quit making it, and am glad that I did.
