DISCLAIMER: I am sorry if i am using Old Post Road #4 in a non desired way and am willing to remove this post if the owners or anyone else finds that this is not the aim of Old Post Road #4.
So after reading many posts about, well... Old Post Road #4 i had a thought and I needed to see it through. As being a person that got a free sample from the great people at OPR soaps i tried it first by itself with my Schick injector and found that it makes a great travel option for me but just not an everyday ordeal. One thing that was holding me back from using the soap everyday is because it is lather free. Not that this is a problem I am just a sucker for a huge shaving bowl filled with white billowy mountains of foam.
Now to solve this problem I just simply combined my two new loves, The Body Shop Maca Root Shave Cream and Old Post Road #4 into a superlather. Although i am using the term superlather there is literally no difference in the lather when OPR is added. I just took an almond size dollop of shaving cream out of the tub and poured one pump's worth of OPR into the bowl as well, soaked my brush, gave it a good squeeze and went on making my lather as normal. The lather came out maybe a hair on the thinner side than normal but almost identical to the great lather that the Maca Root shave cream offers.
By combining these two i got great cushion from the cream and easily the slickest lather I have ever come in contact with due to both the quality of the cream and the OPR. I think that this experiment has given me a new way of mixing up lather. Next time if you have some OPR laying around add a pump to your shaving cream and then mix it up you won't be disappointed.
