Old Man Rant

Go try to find a stick shift to buy. You have to settle for a rice burner to find one.
We’re watching older seasons of the amazing race. Several different episodes in different seasons all have contestants who can’t drive a stick while on a leg of the race.
It’s a microcosm no one knows how to actually do anything anymore 😂😁

Yep, I get hit on all the time by those 20 year old babes that can’t control themselves. It’s hard being a living sex symbol, but it’s my lot in life.
It’s called elder abuse
😂😁
Jk
(An earlier post that you mentioned dealt with his car getting hit and the perpetrator not leaving a note)

Yep. I have two Toyota's in the driveway, both 5 speeds! Fun vehicles.
Manuals are far more fun. In order, I’ve owned a 1973 Triumph Spitfire, 1976 Toyota Corolla, 1978 Chevy Monte Carlo, 1985 VW GTI, 1986 Mazda B2000, 1990 Ford Escort, 1986 Mercedes 300TD, 2001 Honda Civic, 2006 Honda Accord V6, and a 2013 Jeep Wrangler. Only the Chevy and Mercedes were automatics, and were wretchedly boring. The rest were all manuals and a joy to drive.

Frankly, at 226,000 miles, it’s time to replace the Accord a daily driver. But because new practical manuals are so hard to come by, just can’t do it. Maybe the new Ford Bronco…

Unfortunately, I don't believe the new Ford Maverick SMALL pickup is available in a stick. But it is coming out in the Fall, and I am trying to talk my bride into getting one. Probably wait a year or two and see how reliable they are!

I’ve wondered if wait a year on a new model is actually valid. Or an old wives tale or something born out of the pinto. Let’s wait a year or two and see how many blow up. 😂
Buying new isn’t probably the best value but you’ve got the full warranty etc on a new car even a new model. I’ve had good luck with two different brands buying a new model before.

I've never bought a new car, but this one tempts me.

I've owned two fairly new first year of production cars. Both were lemons... But I am a sucker for that Maverick....AND it's looks REALLY well engineered and I believe it has been YEARS in development!

I’m slowly getting back into circulation. The other day an office mate was complaining about spending $38 on cartridges. I sympathized and then mentioned DE blades. He bristled and said “I can’t use those they rip up my face”
In my younger days I would have said that’s because you don’t know what the f$&@ you are doing. But I just said oh that’s too bad.
