Old Gillette DE advice needed.

Hello all

I won a lot on Belgian Ebay with 3 straight razors and one gillette DE razor.

I think it is a Single ring but not sure about that.

I have a couple of questions. I thought there was a serial number on the razor to see how old it is but there is nothing to be found on mine.
If you look at the picture the part with the ring also comes of (don't think that is the way it should be?)
And can you normallly twist the bottom part of the razor?

Think I got one with some flaws.

That's a Gillette Old Type, with some pretty standard defects. The top's coming off because of the crack in the handle. Same is probably true of the bottom. It's still can be made usable with some epoxy to hold it together. If the crack is really bad, you might want to stabilize it with some epoxy. There have been some threads on repairing these..just do a search.

I notice it also has some bent teeth. You'll have to see how it looks when you get it. Often a bent tooth or two won't cause any real issue, as long as it isn't bent upwards, or substantially downwards.

Thank you for the tips. The teeth are not bent that much. Ony one is bent inwards. Will clean it up and try to fix it up a little. I have another one coming in a few days wich looks a lot better. Bought this lot for 2 nice looking straights.
