Old Boker with a Strange Spine.....Any Info or Ideas?

Just got this from my Barber. I've never seen a spine like this. Is there a reason for this groove? Any ideas on age?

Definitely a blood groove. Is your barbers last name Todd by chance?

Hard to tell from photos but maybe it just allows a very near wedge profile without developing an obnoxiously large flat on the spine after some honing?

Fullers on wedge razors were en vogue for a while. They served no functional purpose on a blade so small. I think it invoked craftsmanship. Nice razor BTW
