OKC Shops

I will be traveling to Oklahoma City in a few weeks and will be staying there for a couple of months. Are there any places I should hit for soaps, blades, or razors?
Thanks

There is one I know of. Carwin's Shave Shop. I've only been once but it was so long ago I couldn't tell you what brands they offer or their pricing. Welcome to Oklahoma.

No Problem Strokin! Hope you like it! It's over on Classen Curve past The Republic, I think. Let me know what it's like. I haven't been there in what seems like ages....Probably a good thing. I feel like I have to try everything at least once and my pocketbook gets a little upset.

J.P. Cole Studios in the old Public Market off Reno & Western carried a bunch of Mama Bear soaps last time I was there (about a year ago). They also had a few brands of blades, and some nice, clean, vintage DE razors.

Check out their website. They do custom jewelry, and custom straight razor scales! Very cool stuff!

Went to Carwin's Shave Shop and was real impressed. Talked Chuck the owner and he was real nice and gave samples of some their many products. Bought a futur and some gillette blades today too. Scheduled a straight shave for Wednesday next week and they also do haircuts.

If you are in the okc area it is must stop shop.

i go there for my stuff as well. i like the fact that none if the guys i ran into were just out to make a sale. they only pushed the products they liked, personally, and were really helpful in getting me zoned in on the products i now use. i like that they are quick to pass out samples instead of pushing a sale. i mentioned that i was deploying last time i was in and the guy gave me a big handful of shaving cream samples, just in case i run out of the usual stuff without me asking for anything.

after your shave, head to republic for a burger and beer. their selection of both is great.

I love Replubic's burgers!!! Went to Carwin's Shave Shop today for my first straight razor shave and to buy some pre shave. My shave was done by Chuck and he did a great job and taught me a few things to help me when I use my DE razor.

I went to Carwin's last weekend for a haircut and shave. Chuck was fantastic. SWMBO even liked my haircut (and she's picky):biggrin1: My experience matched what everyone else has said. Chuck is very knowledgeable and didn't try to push products. He gave me a couple of samples of some products I was interested in. This Thurs they are having a straight razor class. Talk about full service.

I'll have to try out Republic's burgers before the class on Thurs.
