What's new

OK gents. Recommend a new soap for me. Avid D.R. Harris user

Harris lavender is my go to soap (left my arko on a trip overseas). No chemically scent, great lather and cushion. Others in my rotation are TOBS Mr Taylors and Proraso red cream- which I like (I PIF'd my razorock tub to my brother).
But I'm a soap guy and find myself reaching always for Harris. The tallow helps as I enjoyed arko. Any recommendations. Waiting to place an order with my brother on Mikes Natural soaps and stopping by the pharmacy to pick up a sample of MWF for like $5.

Try other D.R. Harris soaps. I love the lavender, as well. Couldn't smell my samples of Windsor and Arlington. Thinking of the almond; it doesn't smell a lot either but provides a wonderful lather. Have tried Mike's; unless you are after the scents, I would stick with Harris for the lather.

Tabac! I wouldn't call the scent chemically, but it does turn a lot of people off. I just started using Savon du Midi- Garcon which has a pretty light scent and lathers like a champ, so I would recommend that as well.

Mike's is a must try. I am also liking Strop Shoppe tallow croaps right now - the tallow is good, but I am really loving the special edition double butter formula.

Mike's Natural makes very nice product. At another price point entirely is MdC an exceptional soap.

Now for the one no-one saw coming - another very nice soap (all 3 flavors) and great value is Benton Clay. May still be a sponsor here but not sure. anyway, just add the .com to the name.
happy hunting

Oh man, the options are endless. Tabac, MWF, I Coloniali Mango Oil, Cade, Klar Seifen, Speick stick, TFS, Canali (Gentleman Scent), anything else DR Harris, La Toja stick..... just off the top of my head.

If you want something truly special, try some Klar Seifen (not Kabinett). I consider it to be the best soap available today

ahhhh, Savon du Midi. The finer things in life. great suggestions all around as expected.Much appreciated my fellow madmen

+1 on DR Harris soaps. Just steer clear of the 'herbal' one - it's a nice accessory for playing "catch" with your pet dog. Nothing else.

I've got some Klar Siefen on the way. It's supposed to be very good. But, I would recommend Martin de Candre without hesitation. Top notch performance and a nice mint, lavender, and rosemary scent.
