I was on here a few weeks ago because this soap was giving me weird cottage cheese lather. I finally got around to doing a test lather trying it out with WAY more water and a WAY wetter brush... Lather looked great so I shaved with it.
This is by far the THIRSTIEST soap I have tried. Is this true for all glycerin soaps? mamabears and the like? This was my first soap you can melt.
Had a nice shave, face was a bit hotter when the Og. BR AS hit me than I've been used to shaving with Speick or my unknown vintage tallow soap. But my face feels pretty damn good about 10 minutes later.
I will keep this in my den after all. I can get good lather with it now (my newby arrogance figured I can lather all soaps the same and don't need to learn any nuances...) and my wife really digs the smell.
So to recap, for those who were also getting the cottage cheese lather, much wetter brush, more water in the bowl/face... this is a thirsty soap. Try to take it too far. And as always, YMMV.
