I recently picked up a Boker Edelweis (new) and gotta say it shaves great. I have noticed that when compared to my other straights, the blade closes maybe 1 mm off center. Pretty sure the blade is set in there caddywampus because I can feel the scales flex ever so, so slightlywhen I open and close it. Granted, this ain't a high-zoot razor, but it isn't a Gold Dollar either. I guess my question would be: is this sort of a "tolerance" thing with mass-produced mid-grade razors? The toe of the blade clears the scale when closed, but it is kind of up snug close to the side. Is this an everyday thing or do I have a "factory second here"?
(Hmmm...does Boker even make and sell "factory seconds")?
