what material is this. i has a suede side and whats like a coarse canvas side. i am unsure how to use this strop since ive never used it before

Final stropping on suede leather is/was much more common in the old world than in North America.

The canvas side is used for those who prefer to refresh their edges on a pasted hanging strop.
