Odd illusion

I have mentioned in previous threads that I have a light enough beard to skip shaving for a day or two. Since starting DE sahving, though, the growth seems more rapid. I know this can't be true because shaving doesn't affect growth. Yesterday I achieved near bbs, and today I can feel and notice more stubble than I would expect. Why the illusion.?

This is happening to me as well.
Maybe I am just looking forward to using all of this cool stuff?
I have been using my brush and soap to lather my face after a shower, even if I don't shave!

Beard growth is not constant. If I'm camping, my beard grows at twice the rate it normally does. It could be that you are just in a growth period. However, and what I think is more likely, close shaves with some blades do not result in as long a lasting shave (for me).

I have noticed that when using super sharp blades that my beard is usually ready to shave the next day. When using a straight - which is duller than a commercial blade - I often have a smooth face in the morning and not much to cut.

BBS - to me - has grades. It may be smooth to the feel but the whiskers may be just below and will peek out soon. On reading that, it sounds like BS... but there is something to it (I think). The multiple blade cart manufacturers advertise the trimming of hair that is slightly pulled out by the first blade in the stack. I think that happens with the straight on subsequent passes. With a Feather, I've noticed that my shaves don't last quite a long but I don't do multiple passes with the Feather (like I do with the straight, anyway).

Several have noted that DE blades not only have a sharpness and comfort aspect, but also a longevity of shave aspect. If you are getting BBS that is short lived with a Feather, try another blade.

I'm using Wilkinson blades.

DE shaving increases testosterone levels..... are your knuckles getting hairier too??? :2guns:

(That's why we have to buy all the creams and lotions too.... to offset that increase in the big "T".)

Geez, now that you mention it, I used to have hair on my knuckles, but I don't anymore. What could that mean?
