I'll just tell her, "It's because you needed to do the kind of things a man needs to do when you needed to do it." What do you think? Will that work, or should I duck, cover, run, or all of the above simultaneously?
I suggest going for the evasive manoeuvres.
Should be delivered on a day she's not at home so you might come off easy.
Edit: blade suggestions are welcome does the sloc need less sharp blades as well? I'm guessing it's not a good Idea to load it up with permasharp/astra/Gillette Platinum or any other 4 or 5/5 sharp blade?

I used to worry about how comfortable an open comb razor would be. Then I got an Otto Roth New LC and I really enjoy it though I use a Gillette tech for the vast majority of my shaves. Derby extras should work well with most open comb razorsI dont own an OC because I fear they will be too rough a shave on my sensi-skin... But then again I have been eyeing a nice Gillette New Tech OC and even a fatip piccolo on ze interwebs for a while. Maybe this thread could be used as an excuse to acquire some extra tools...
Should I or should't I? I read on the webstore i usually order from that the fatip should be used with a 1 to 2 or maybe 3 bladesharpness. Is this correct? If it is true then it would give a purpose to my Derby extra's...
I would also recommend adding a Gillette/Otto Roth New LC but that’s just me. Just remind the wife that there’s worse things that you could be spending your money on

My New Short Comb was gifted to me and it is my most efficient and smooth razor. Mind the angle
and a light touch. I’m also tempted by the Fatip razors. I like brass razors. I will watch for you on this forum.

I have to apologise for hijacking this thread earlier. With teary eyes I try to face reality and need to admit that I have no business typing in this topic.
The store I ordered the Sloc from was unable to deliver it within the window they agreed upon.
On top of that they still have it listed on their webstore with the same delivery date, even though they can't live up to this.
Call me overly principal or even a spoiled brat but the fact that they are still advertising they can ship it within 3 workdays while they obviously can't plus the fact that I am an impulsive buyer (and go mental when delivery dates aren't lived up to, because it gives me too much time to think) made me decide to cancel my order.
Therefor I will not be able to join in on (Sl)OCtober this year.
For now I'll have to settle on my closed-comb razors but will be watching your OC-porn in this thread daily.

Got my Gillette old type, Wade and Butcher old type dupe, and my Gillette NEW. There's also the debatable GEM 1912 (kinda, sorta?? Haha the combs do have an opening...)
I'll try not to be lazy and post pictures if I get around to it. Always loved open combs.

Not all open combs are 'homicidal scrapers' as you unknowingly are calling them. Buy an open comb Merkur and you will see.
I don't have an open comb (yet) but I am aware of the fact that they aren't all as blunt an instrument as machetes.
I was just looking for a light & funny way to wrap up my post . Now I know I was unsuccessful, the feeling of failure will stick with me all day like gum on a shoe.
