OCtober Halloween - shaving like a pirate

Treasure chests stacked up in the shave cave I discovered on this small island far from home. Piles of silver, gold, amber and platinum. Aaarrrghh, I'm rich!

Not sure how much platinum Capt Kidd ever looted. He may have focused more on plundering rhodium from wealthy Aristocrats.

Razor: Razorock old type OC-MFG 2015> Excellent milder open comb, I use to like this for traveling and for easy going shaves.
Blade: KAI SS(2) Excellent blade, sharp & Smooth, plus wider than a standard blade.
Soap: Razorock Santa Marie del Fiore "Firenze":001_wub:- nice scent with excellent lather qualities, one of my favorites!
Brush: Razorock Plissoft 24 mm synthetic- great brush for creating lather for the last 3 1/2 years, + soft tips.
Pre shave : Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock American barber with witch hazel + a dollop of AVON "True gent" balm (nice mild smoke vanilla scent)
Results:CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers =:a17:great shave with my RR old type OC paired with a KAI SS blade.

OCtober 31 - 1936 Gillette Aristocrat

31 days in October, 31 shaves in OCtober. Learned that my technique has gotten to the point that I can use an OC razor and get a reliably good result (and can reliably feel the difference between different razors). It’s been a fun month and I hope to keep some of these razors in my regular rotation.

Prep: Hot Shower
OC: Gillette Aristocrat (1936 USA - replated in rhodium by previous owner)
Blade: Gillette 7 O’clock Sharp Edge yellow (1)
Soap: Geo F Trumpers - GFT Cream
Brush: Simpson Classic 1 Best
After: Cold water

Last shave of OCtober and I used the El Fantasma. It went WTG well but I could feel it ready to chatter. XTG, 2 short strokes, and I sat it down. It simply does not have the clamping needed to work against tough hair.

I am glad I bought it but it will become a cool razor to show others.

I finished up with my WB and as Halloween descends and the full moon rises....the El Fantasma will be glowing in my bathroom like an apparition 🤠

Razor: @Blackland Razors Vector OC :001_wub:
Blade: Kai Captain Titan Protouch w/Guard (4)
Brush: Heritage Collection Ever-Ready 500E (Manchurian knot)
Bowl: Captain's Choice Copper
Soap: PannaCrema Nuàvia Blu
Aftershave: Epsilon Blue Mediterranean
Fragrance: Classic Match Blue EdT Spray (Belcam version of Polo Blue)

WTG/ATG/XTG + touch-ups. No nicks, cuts, weepers or irritation.

The Vector OC is nimble, comfortable and effective. Since I got the OC Plate, I reach for the Vector more than any other razor in my Den.

Outstanding shave! :)
