Whether you support him or not, you would hope that she would have lived just another two days to share the election with him. Sad and unfortunate.

Awful news. It's a crime she missed seeing him get elected.
I'm a Republican. But either way, it is a shame that she will not be able to share tomorrow's excitement with her grandson.

Its definitely a blessing he was able to leave the campaign to visit her a week or so ago. So many of us have felt regret over long absences preceding the loss of a loved one.
I'm glad he made time for visiting her when he did.

It's nice that the great-grandkids had a chance to say goodbye (at least I hope they did-- I don't know if they went on that trip)
Why?
Not to be insensitive, but people's grandparents die every day. What makes it worse when it's a relative of a public figure who dies?
Why would it have to be worse than an ordinary person's grandparent dying for it to be sad news?
Care to rethink that?
Because the man may (quite frankly, it seems likely) be elected the first black President tomorrow, a mere 24 hours later.
Do you really not see how that's tragic on a Shakespearean level? Intellectualism without pathos is a lonely life.
All of the candidates are on a literal roller-coaster ride these last days of the campaign. The loss of a beloved grandmother in the midst of a chaotic election has to be tough.
