NYC storm yesterday

Usually NYers over-react to thunderstorms, but this one was a doozy! I grew up in Louisiana, and this was pretty much a 10 minute hurricane. The power on my street (Yes, only my street!) went out last night, and still hasn't returned. Oh, I was walking to class when the downpour started

Anyone else experience it?

Without a doubt, the most powerful storm I've ever witnessed. My curtains were blowing around and my windows were CLOSED! It was incredible. The rain was so heavy that I could hardly even see out the windows. And it sounded like war. Like cannons going off. I'm thankful I wasn't out in it.

I saw a news article that it was a small tornado like storm.

It's weird how you can just miss weather events here. I take the subway and then the train to get home from the work. When I walked to the subway the sky was getting darker but it was not raining, and when the train emerged from the tunnel, it was still raining but I had no indication of how severe it had been.

If you would've blinked, you might've missed it. It came through quickly but sure left its mark!

We're in the middle of a weather bomb here in NZ. The Met Office has issued weather warnings to cover the whole country; snow in high places, flooding in low, high winds everywhere. Last night was unprecedented in my experience. You could feel the house shudder under the wind blasts.

Just got electricty back! Gone from 9pm Thursday to 2am Saturday.

I got caught in the down pour, we where loading a rack with easily $100,000 worth of clothing (fresh off the models from the show) out of Exit Art and on to our box truck. Wind knocked the styling interns with the rack in front of ours over, we hid in the U-hall until the storm was over and the sides where bending in with the wind, and rain.

worse then the time I caught pneumonia during Fall winter 10 fashion week.
