What's new

Now THIS...is a Shaving Set

I found this while lurking around Merkur's website:

All I can say is wow. Does anyone know where this particular set can be purchased? I haven't been able to hunt it down in any of my searches. Given my finances (or lack thereof) right now, I know it's impossible for me to buy one of these sets any time soon, but I could always bookmark some vendor's website that I can return to when I finally see better days. :thumbup1:

All I would do is replace the razor pictured with a 39C Slant and (dare I even say it?) I think I would be set for life. What an awesome combination that would be.

I have a Merkur set on the order of that. It was part of a Futur shave set from Classicshaving.com i ended up selling the razor but kept the set. The brush is a great brush. Check out that website and see if they have the one you are looking for.

I dont know where to get that, but CoonCatBob (of Bobs Razor Works) might be able to make something similar. He is a wizard with a lath, and a true pleasure to work with.

I just may have to do that down the road if I can't ever find this set for purchase. While I haven't conversed with him personally as of yet, I have seen a lot of his threads relating to razor maintenance and I know of his work. He seems like a swell guy to me.

The stand looks like one in the pic I posted, but I don't really dig any of the other pieces. I get along much better with metal bowls.

Looks like it will have to be a mix-and-match process, huh? I could buy this one for the stand, then get the chrome bowl & brush along with the 39C and PIF the red 38C, brush and clear bowl!

Dare to dream...

Keep looking. The Futur set i got comes with either a glass or metal bowl and i got the metal one. Depends on which site you look at.

Blowing $200 on a brush or razor is one thing, but spending $200+ to cherry pick one item out of a set might be a bit much. Just my opinion, but if your patient you can probably find something similar or have some thing custom made for mush less.

That's probably what I'll do when the time comes. At least I have that pic for a visual reference...
