I've been at DE shaving now for about 9 months and I love everything about it. For the life of me I could never understand why people bowl lather. I have a wooden bowl, leftover from some AOS soap it came with. I've used it a few dozen times and I get an Eh lather, so I began facelathering and was happy until..... Two days ago my wife comes home with a ceramic bowl she thoughtI might enjoy; so I decide to give bowl lathering another try. What I wind up with is this lather that is beyond anything I've ever whipped up- for the record it was a combo Prosaro green cream and Razorock Classic soap. Long story short, I enjoyed a great shave and learned yet again- not to judge too quickly and come back to things at a later time.

Wait till you get a scuttle!! I love getting the lather up to a nice consistency before putting it to my face allows me to control everything including how warm or cold I'd like the lather

Bowl Lathering is nice but, a Scuttle now that is great. Check out Roberts on E-Bay and see if they have anything or if he could make you one.

Otherwise, you can go out and see what other Scuttles are out there.

Face Lathering is good too. But, YMMV.

To me, face lathering adds a bit of that fast-food-ish vibe to classic shaving. I won't lie, I do face lather when in a hurry but whenever I can, I whip up a bowl.

+1 on scuttle lathering ESP with the Roberts scuttle. Super lather and a scuttle make the best combo.

my face lathering turns into neck lathering, turns into chest lathering, and sink/counter top lathering. I just can't control it, it get's everywhere.

Bowl lathering's for me but sometimes i face lather . IMO Bowl lathering creates a more creamy lather.
