What's new

Now Chubby 1 Manchurian joins in

Today I received my long awaited Simpson Chubby 1 Manchurian, delayed for engraving. I am eager to find out just how this grade of hair compares to the Best and 3-Band Super. Tomorrow, and Sir Irish Moos stick will reveal all.

David, the brushes you have been getting lately are making me green with envy. Looks like you will have a nice new brush for testing the soaps/creams I will send you.

I would love to see this thread develop into some real info on the Chubby hair offerings. David, I hope you have a hard soap in mind as well as the IM stick for testing.

I have a few in mind, Ray, but I'm off for 10 days on Sunday(will still be on B&B though), and only travelling with sticks I'm afraid. The Manchurian has great backbone by the looks of it so MWF is the obvious first choice.

Sorry for the delay in the update but I've been working today. I have to admit I was a little anxious before using the Chubby 1 Manchurian this morning, the reason being that I love soft silvertip 3-Band brushes, and the only 2-Band I own(Semogue 2011 LE) is definitely too scritchy for my liking. I pondered over this purchase for quite a while, and only after speaking to Mark at Vulfix/Simpson did I proceed. His description was that the Manchurian hair has all the back bone of a 2-Band brush, yet a softness somewhere between the Best and 3-Band Super. And I have to totally agree with his description. This little brush has tremendous backbone, yet in no way comes across as too scritchy. I face lathered the Sir Irisch Moos stick and found it totally comfortable and a pleasure to use. I am absolutely delighted with this purchase, and glad to say my initial fears were totally unfounded.

Thanks David... now I want one  Glad to see you are happy with your purchase  Enjoy your days off with this gorgeous brush (and prepare to put it to the test once you are back).
