What's new

NOOB Here

Hello Gentleman,
Although I enjoy other forms of wet shaving I have never set foot in to this garden. I started reading about SE's but never had a chance to try one. Once I got one SE but sold it. I have read many things but now needing to try one. One of my friends agreed to lend me the SE he is having. Unfortunately he also haven't used it as SE blades are not readily available in my country.
So in order to try one (I forgot my friend loaned me a GEM 1912 ) I thought of buying a small pack still shipping is insanely high (sellers normally ship in priority mail) . So What should I do ?
I'm in two minds of getting GEM 100/50 blade pack as I'm not sure whether this goes fine with my skin?

Now RAD is twisting my arm to force me into this.

Hey James I'm a noob only in SE's not in the B&B . If you look at the date joined at top of my Avatar you'll get the idea. :wink2:

Welcome to B&B.

Thanks guys for your generous offers but I'm living in Asia. I'm looking to buy few SE blades at a cheaper price preferably GEM SS to try out. If my face like it I'll start a new journey with SE's otherwise I can finish the experiment right there.

Most SE blades are made in the US. I believe that Dorco makes SE blades but those who have tried them have given them very unfavorable reviews (not sharp, tug, rip, shred.... you get the picture).

The best ones you can use would be the ASR (Personna/GEM) PTFE coated stainless steel blades that are sold in 100 count cartons.

Connaught may still be your best bet for getting a small quantity of these blades

Give us a "hint" where in asia you are located and maybe someone can locate a seller nearer to you than the UK
