Non old man aftershave?

Well, I'm late 30's, so not far off from an old man.
Anyway, I normally use Clubman, Fred's Spice, Old Spice, and Avon Excalibur.
Been told that I smell like Grandpa or an old man several times.
Anything easily avalible and not expensive for a "young" guy like me?

Depending on your budget, many of the cologne manufacturers have after shaves, such as Polo and Chanel. You could always use an unscented shave balm or alum block and then your preferred cologne from there as well. Some of the aqua velva lines aren't bad, but it's a love it/hate it sort of thing for me.

I just picked up a bottle of Master Jade. It's almost a dead ringer for the original green Polo.

This has a modern aquatic scent.

Hey...I like my "old man" AS's lol

I got some modern AS's however, I got one called Avatar...it is fairly light and has a nice modern scent, also I use my old standby that never seems to fade from popularity and that is Brut. Jovan Musk is also great and they have an AS/Cologne.

Do you wear any frags on top of the AS? If so, maybe use something unscented or quick to fade and let the cologne stand alone.

As for cheap(er) local finds, consider Old Spice - Smooth Blast. Brut (while a classic) is also not usually in the "old man" camp amoung my wife's nose. (I'm in my 30s also).

My girl loves the smell of Speick. I thought it had a certain old timey quality to it, but when I splashed it on she thought it was the bee's knees. You also can't beat it as an AS in terms of healing and skin care. Another option would be Proraso AS splash. It has a fresh menthol scent and also works wonders after a shave. For a tad more money you could try the TOBS splashes. I have the Eton college and it smells amazing. While not a great healer it has a hell of a great citurus masculine scent!

It depends what "old man" means for them. If it's a powdery scent, barbershop, lemony, etc type of scent. Those AS that you got are "classics". If you want a "modern" scent, well, it depends on your preferences.

The Proraso AS is very good in my opinion (performance and scent-wise). I would also try the Aqua Velva Ice Sport or Sport (only in Canada), those two smell more modern to me. Skin Bracer and AV Blue are "older" to my nose.

I've never been accused of smelling like an old man with D.R. Harris sandalwood. Feedback has been roundly positive, except when I over-apply it, which is easy to do, given its strength.

razorock king Louis lavender lotion. there are lots of others; all of the ones mentioned so far are good, especially the tobs splashes (if I recall correctly, eton college was specifically blended to reflect what a young man at eton would smell like).

I'll second the Proraso Aftershave Splash recommendation. Hardly any one has smelled it and the scent is light and refreshing.

I love this one! I can't always find it so I've stocked up a bit. I use this or the Nivea Replentishing balm. A hit with the ladies!

I am surprised how little attention this gets. It is a decent healer and my younger nieces love the smell. It is probably the only "young' smelling splash this old man uses.
