I don't know. I have a Leaf Thorn that does but it's not a vintage razor.

This early model Aristocrat is in lovely condition but seems to need an adjustment….it does hold the blade but doesn’t seem to lock it in as well as other Gillettes I have…perhaps a tune up from BRG might help. I have a couple of razors to send off for a re plate so could pop this in and get them to look at it.
Great shave though even with this minor issue…could be one of the best in my collection but not a daily driver type until it’s had a service.
My favourite so far this NOCvember is still the ‘41 Ranger.

Swing Junior Derby Premium

For those that find Techs too mild these straight bar Swings might be just the ticket. Pleasantly aggressive but with lots of feel and very easy to use.

This particular little Junior travel set dates back to the 1950s and features a two part handle that fits inside itself in order to slip neatly into the rather smart bakelite case. The patent number on the box incidentally, was granted in 1934, and is for the case itself and not the razor.

The performance really is excellent - super smooth and wonderfully efficient - and I think I got my best ever shave from it today with the Derby Premium.

Shark Platinum (1)
Damp facecloth aka “shave binky”
No brush
Pre-shave: face wash with shaving cream x2
Lather: Amazon Basics shaving cream
Aftershave: Olm Nom
Post-shave: lukewarm shower and a drop of hyaluronic acid and a drop of glycerin
Post-shave: Equate moisturizer

Thought I’d try a Shark Platinum to see if I get on better w it than a Gillette 7 O’Clock Permasharp. Couldn’t tell if it was sharper and smoother or I just it was, but I overshaved my chin and upper lip instead of my jawline, so maybe?

@Shaun asleep , you can force half a DE blade into an Injector razor and some 1912-style razors can hold half DE blades (saw @geneaut doing it and found out the cap of my 1912 wouldn’t hold the blade as well).

At that point, you may be better served with a Parker Solo Edge as comparisons to the GEM Micromatic Flying Wing have been made. Only with a wider and generally more affordable selection of blades, the extra weight many modern wet shavers prefer (possibly due to associating lighter weight razors with the cartridge setups they’ve fled), and the power of magnets (currents of raw energy course and eddy through my body with every shave. I am abnormal, erm, um, immortal!).

The Swing is an absolute pleasure to shave with and it does indeed pack a punch - but not in an overly aggressive way. It has a bigger gap than a Ti95 with positive exposure. And very very nice shave.
