This razor doesn't guide your shave, it allows for higher angle variety. It isn't super smooth, but neither a scraper. This razor delivers its very own style of shave. For me it is the Wolfman of the Ukraine and I hope that the creators will survive and thrive. I am looking forward to the first post-war design by Smart Helix, they had ideas for a Project Artemis.

Edit: Of note are also the lather holes in the baseplate and the lovely grippy and long, I like that, handle. I also give kudos to the pin stand, the packaging in a wooden box is also very stylish.

That is a gorgeous razor @Tanuki ! Handles as well obviously. Are these razors unobtainium? And might you happen to know more of these “injector” razors that function like a regular DE? Fascinating!!

Thanks,
Guido
I believe Mongoose is no longer making razors. @Whiterook can better tell you about the Asylum injector blade razor. The Supply injector is also a non-injectable, I believe.

The Mingoose is the only 3-piece injector blade razor I have used. I like its straightforward design, as well as its performance. I think half/saloon blade razors (Leaf, RazoRock Eco, etc) are encroaching on the small niche occupied by non-injectable injector blade razors.

Great razor, definitely
I have the Standard version and it gives me nice shaves, I also hope that they will continue to work on other razors in the future

Razor: Yintal Bronze
Blade: German Wilkinson Sword (23)
Soap: Goat Milk Soap from AliE
Aftershave: Fa Dark Orange
Balm: Revuelle

This razor sat long time in my drawer. Did not get how to shave with this heavy razor. No pressure, let razor weight do the job was too much pressure ! I hold handle from upper part . Then it balances right amount of little pressure.

That's a razor I always wanted to try but didn't order eventually. It is reputated to be decently manufactured and an upper medium aggressive razor, do you agree @Halfbeard?
But it seems Yintal (Weishi) has updated the razor head in the meantime (to a milder version, as it seems)... on the other hand, it still does cost next to nothing, on offer now right now for 16 bucks and coins, with a stand 🤷‍♂️

I have also understood that the Yintal cap makes the R41 more aggressive as well - at least with the apparently older version.

I think my local shave shop has the older one in stock.

I agree it is medium agressive. I bought it long time ago when I was new wet shaver. It was then too agressive for me. I turned to shavette shaving. It teached me proper shaving habits - no/little pressure, skin streching, beard mapping. Now I have re-discovered this razor. A very good budget-friendly shaver.

I checked from AliE they have indeed renewed the head. Seems much milder now.

I suppose the company who makes the R-41, no longer was interested in the reputation their razor was getting, for turning their customers faces, into a Halloween horror show.

If thats the case, I'll have to agree with the company, better living when you don't look like you just got shaved, in a torture chamber! 😱

Thursday night's shave:

razor: UK Gillette Aristocrat
Blade: Astra
Soap: Zeus God of Thunder
Brush: Zenith extra soft horse hair

A late post: I'm recoving from a stomach bug.

I think this is either a 3rd or 4th generation UK Aristocrat. It shaves wonderful with just enough blade feel for me. Zeus God of Thunder has a subtle, earthy scent. I've taken a liking to horse hair brushes; the Zenith is my second.

NOCvember

Last night’s stupendous shave
RazoRock “German” 37
Shark Platinum (2)
Damp facecloth aka “shave binky”
Simpson Wee Scot 13mm badger brush
Pre-shave: shea butter oil several hours earlier then Al’s new (old) lathering method
Lather: Wickham’s 1912 Club Cola bowl-loaded, face-lathered
Post shave warm shower
Post shave: mentholated Equate moisturizer

Used a neutral angle and resisted the weight of the razor as it did its gentle, ATG cleaning spree. Added a skosh of pressure towards its cap getting a few stragglers. Reminded of the smoovness of this pairing.

Your local shave shop appears to be a time traveling machine... and I hear you 😉

But I'm still in GRUYERE.
And I'm still in GRUME.
And I'm still not sure if I'll complete any of these events... 🤣
o haha! Even when I have absolutely no intention whatsoever other than sharing information I still appear to be enabling!

But I would let this one go by for sure. I think it’s rather pricy at €35. I know it’s all brass, but still.

Sure you do! 🤣
But no worries, my Friend!

Yeah, that's pricey. The handle is brass, the razor head isn't. The latter is just treated/coloured Zamak.

I might give the milder Yintal V2 a try, though. I've come to appreciate mild shavers loaded with a sharp blade lately...

Cheers!

Edit: @Halfbeard the one pictured is the Yintal TTO. But the three piece one isn't way more expensive.
