I haven't posted in a while. I have been keeping my RAD in check but I have been keeping my eyes open for a pre-war single ring for a reasonable price. I took a flyer on this razor off of the 'Bay which had a poor description and a worse picture. After un-boxing it this is what I have found.
1.) It is marked with the Nov.15.04 pat. date.
2.) No logo or made-in stamp under the head.
3.) No visible serial number.
In comparing it to my 1920 single ring I am certain that it is a pre 1921 gillette. My questions are, did any of the early single rings get made without serial numbers or were all of the no serial numbers in 1905 double rings? Could this just be the wrong barrel with this razor?
