No problems with MWF

I've read posts by members who say they've had problems with MWF, either lathering problems or just problems in general. I've had MWF for several months, but I haven't used it yet. My shave today was the first use of MWF.

I used my Vulfix 404 thinking that I'd need a stiffer brush to get a good lather. I did my usual prep before starting the lather with the MWF. Right from the start the lather was great. It was almost as if it exploded after a few swirls of the brush. I had a very nice lather almost from the get go. I was using my Feather AC DX, and it was a very nice shave from start to finish.

Its interesting because I was expecting problems with the MWF, but there were none. Its a very nice soap that I'll now use in my rotation.

I also find MWF to be easy to use.

I think the trend I've see here in other MWF threads is that people with hard water have trouble and people with soft water don't.

So, do you have hard or soft water?

I guess that would explain it. I have soft water. We get our water from a well which is spring fed. From there it goes through our water softener. :thumbup1:

I soak my brush in hot water while I'm showering and have found that MWF works best when I've squeezed all the water out of the brush before making lather. Dry brush to gather soap and spread a thin layer on my face, then dip in warm water and face lather and repeat.

I just tried Kent's re-branded MWF (as seen here).

Lathered up a charm! Gave a lovely, thick soft cushion. Smelt really nice as I was shaving and my skin feels great afterwards...I'm definitely a convert!

Lovely soft, Scottish water here! :thumbup1:

Do you have a problem creating good lather with any of your soaps?
I would like to try MWF but I couldn't get a decent lather from Tabac but no problem with C&E. I get lots of lather from the Tabac but like some reviewers mention it just disappears! There are some similar reviews for MWF so I'm not sure if it would work for me. Only one way to find out I suppose.

Welcome to MWF land Peter! :thumbup1:

I use MWF with the same brush and my first try with it was a rushed one. Had no problem getting a good lather. The scent is not strong - it reminds me of milk and cream. When, eventually, my current puck is used up I will definitely be ordering a replacement.
