What's new

No mention November?

Sdm84 - dang man, you've got what I have in half the time. I'm jealous. But I've also read that growth rate and density will increase with age for males, so being 28, hopefully I've got more in me, lol. Thanks for the post. Are you taking it off after the month of keeping it for the winter? Catalinbread - I've always just taken the picture with my phone, right side up, and emailed it to myself and then click the little picture attach icon to upload the picture and it gets turned sideways for some reason, I have no idea why. I take the picture normally and don't edit it. Any suggestions?

Whether you upload directly from phone or attach from elsewhere after sending it if the original photo was taken with the phone held sideways it should post normally.

Vertical pics can be up to a couple mb larger file size. Not sure if that's the problem but I never have to flip pics that are taken with phone held sideways.

You can also upload them to your B&B gallery and flip them with the edit tool and copy/paste them to posts.

Here's my growth, problem is I have from light blond to dark blond whiskers and my chin is ginger, so this looks patchy but actually it is not, my stache area is light blonde and ginger and camera is bad.

Lol! When you reach your 40's the hair migrates from the top of your head to the bottom of your face ;)

GHGF- grey hair grows faster!

I had a full beard when I was 28 and married my wife. I went to a goatee in my late 30's and finally clean shaven just this year.

My wife loves the clean shaven look and so far HATES the beard...go figure...so I will be shaving Dec 1

Bookie - well don't fret. you've still go me beat, lol. So beard on!

Also, is anyone using any products while they grow? oil, balm..etc.? I've gone full regiment with biotin and folic acid supplements as well as oil to help it shine, soften, and to keep it hydrated. Also helps with the itching.

Just shampoo/conditioner and been rubbing aftershave balm in to try to keep it soft. I can't believe how course some of the hair is especially around lips and chin. Looks like wire, can hardly bend it and it even reflects light! No wonder I like really sharp blades. Razors kind of just get stuck ATG in those areas and I have to really push on razor to get through if blade isn't really sharp.

Hope my Bingle buddy doesn't see this thread and think the beard is here to stay and I end up with a bunch of beard maintenance goodies.

I am using coconut oil and AOS pre-shave oil (sandalwood) for a nice scent.

After researching beard oils I found that most all have the same ingredients so just use what I have. So far so good

Wiwicks of course I won't shave, it stopped itching sometines I wonder if I do have a whiskers. If I let it long enough it could be interesting with all that shades.

I have the same problems Catalinbread. the bottom of my right sideburn curves back towards my ear instead of going straight down (like the other side of my face does) and when I shave, i'm not concerned with BBS, just want from jaw line up to be smooth if a girl touched it or something. So on the left side of my face 2 passes work perfect WTG then XTG. But to get the same affect on my right side, I end up needing to go ATG in that area and the blades will end up jumping forward if i'm not careful. Also, i know what you mean about the hair being super coarse in some tougher spots. There's a commercial ( I think gillette) claiming that the facial hair is comparable in strength and texture of copper wire of the same diameter, and that is a fact, not just commercial propaganda. So be proud that your face hair comparable to a freakin metal! I know it makes me feel like a boss when I think about that. I will continue to not shave, but its that much harder not to because I just received a W&B vintage that I had sent off to have custom buffalo horn scales made for and blade refurbished. So this newly revitalized beauty is staring at me on my shelf. But if I can remain strong, so can you guys! here's some razor porn.

Beautiful razor!

Youguys!! I failed, and it felt so good! I actually began this no-shave project October 1st this year, but this morning, Nov 12, I was checking my strop, you know, just in case it needed oiling… Then I figured I’d oil it, and the leather felt and smelled so good, so then I got to wondering if I’d remembered to put mineral oil on my Prima Klang, so I got that out, and one thing led to another and next thing I knew I had a perfect layer of creamy B&M bay rum lather on my wet beard… Two passes later and I had a goatee… Now I’m thinking that if I shave 30% of my face, that’s still a 70% success rate at no shave November… Isn’t that how this works? Well, I don’t want to discourage anyone, but I did want to give an update…

that's why is a "great" :001_rolle thing to have broken razors and using a disposables on a neck.

haha, I both like AND agree with that logic. Good choice to lather up with B&M. I bet that made for one fantastic streak ender.

Catalinbread I'm jealous

It's only been in the last couple years that my moustache connects to the beard so I used to shave that when letting rest of stubble grow.
Stuff seems to grow faster than ever. If it truly does continue to grow faster as you age I may be in trouble at only 25.

Be a regular Wolfman in 10 years.
