What's new

no idea what it is but it's cool

I just bought an old DE razor with case today

The case is a chrome metal 1 3/4 inches x 1 3/4 inches the razor comes in 4 pieces two pieces make up the handle (one stores inside the other) then the two piece shave head.

It's made by "Cosmo Mfg Co. Germany

It appears to be a promotional item for Belle Springs Creamery Co.

The razor is in very nice condition and does not appear to have seen much use

I'd post pictures but have no batteries right now:blush:

Yes, pics will help but it sounds like one of several German travel razor sets. I own one that matches your description closely. The better ones are very nice and well constructed. And they shave great.

Just found some batteries

I have owned two of these. I sold one but I had to keep the other. I felt it gave a great shave and I highly reccomend it. I look forward to seeing what you think of it.

I tried shaving with it!!! how shall I describe it's aggressiveness???

Can you say Frank Zappa, can you say "Weasels Ripped My Flesh"

It felt more like I was planing my face than shaving it, I came through a 3 pass shave unscathed but don't plan on ever using it again. In fact I did the clean-up with my Parker 96R and couldn't feel the blade pass after shaving with the Cosmo.

I'll probably look for someone on B&B to make a straight trade for it, I will post it in the sale trade section later tonight.

Not enought time as a member of the forum or enough posts to put in trade section, oh well, will do so on a future date.

I'm gonna try shaving with it again I made a gross error with my first shave with it. When I assembles the razor I tightened the handle on and there was a gap between the comb and the head, the blade bending between them acted like a leaf spring and the comb could move under this blade spring pressure and left a really wide blade gap. In looking at the razor I found the handle was not going on all the way so I cleaned it with some de-limer and I was able to then with a drop of oil on the threads have the comb and head come together flush against each other. Maybe it will be nice to me this time :)

An issue I had with mine was getting the blade in straight and lined up properly. It wasn't a big thing, but it was something I had to pay attention to.

I just re-visited the Cosmo Razor, correcting the mistakes listed above using the My Time shaving soap I did a 4 pass shave no cuts no weepers, maybe a bit of razor burn on the base of my neck (not used to the open comb) but over all a close comfortable shave. The handle being small it's difficult to have as light a touch as I would like. But all in all not too bad:mellow:
