Nice inexpensive synthetic

I tried one of these Reetec 15k synthetic stones based on a couple of positive reviews. There is not much out there about it though. To my surprise was very worthy (especially when you consider the price). I just took an edge off of a 8k shapton to the Reetec and got a smooth no-tug one pass shave. I only needed to touch up the area in the crease of my neck. I’m happy with it.

Oh yeah I redacted the name of the retailer as not to post competitive sites to the members here.

A quick search shows that they will not ship to the US or are out of stock. About $30-35 dollars, but they have been around for at least 4-5 year according to postings on other fora.

Website does not give much information.

They shipped mine to the US (Ohio to be specific). If they are out of stock check back later I guess. They are an obscure stone which is a shame because mine seems to be really good. It seems quite a bit like a 12k super stone in regards to the honing experience and the results it produces.

Tip: Don’t search the site for the keyword “reetec”. That wouldn’t pull it up for some reason (or it was buried in the results). I got it by searching for “15000 sharpening stone” and it was in the top dozen or so results.
