Wow, we set another record for posts in the acquisitions thread during February and there's slowing down in sight -- the new enablers are fired up!

What will March bring? We shall see right here in this thread, have at it.

Stand by for my updates...I suspect I'll have some additions after this weekend (Baltimore Pen Show)! I think a Cum Laude is also in my future. :thumbup1:

Three packages arrived today, much by accident. Got ink for for the Montblanc, and then two other beauties.
The Monteverde Invincia Deluxe is a solid pen with a beautiful carbon fiber weave and black nib. The Pelikan 100N in excellent condition, but I haven't inked it yet. Perhaps next week it'll see some paper time.

I got my Private Reserve inks today. A bottle of DC Super Violet and 12 Sherwood Green cartridges. Not nearly the score some of you boys are getting but im happy to have them :)

Beautiful Pelikan! It looks just like the one I got this week, and carried for a while today. I love mine!

nothing vintage but i am back in my comfort Zone, These things are AMAZING and I will never recommend a sheaffer for calligraphy anymore, the strange nibs on these have so much more capabilities above a regular italic nib, they write close to an automatic pen then a fountain pen, with all the plus of a fountain pen feed

Unbelievable

Back from the Baltimore Pen Show. As I expected, I ended up spending more than I had budgeted, but not really that much over. :001_cool:

I ended up with two additions to my collection, both Parkers. The first was a Parker Vacumatic, in Striated Silver Pearl from 1945. The other was a 1939 Parker Challenger in marbled gray and black. Both are in very nice, restored condition. I purchased both pens from a local Pennsylvania collector for what I considered a very reasonable price. I'll ink them up tomorrow and take them for a spin. Pictures will be posted as soon as I can get some good daylight.

I also am back from the Baltimore Pen Show.

I scored a Pilot Vanishing Point from Richard Binder of RichardsPens.com. It's a black matte and I got Richard to grind it down to a straight crisp italic nib. I love it, but it's obviously not going to be an every day writer. I kind of like how the pen is schizophrenic in that regard, since the VP is supposed to be a "business pen."

I also got a Parker 45 fine nib. The pen is buttery smooth and writes amazingly well. I didn't expect it to write this well at all.

Finally, I bought a Kaweco Sport. They intrigued me and I love the design. It, too, writes much better than I expected it to.

Picked up my first bottle of ink, (Parker Blue) and a converter for the beautiful pen my parents surprised me with on Christmas!

You should have said hello, Jason! :biggrin1: Congratulations on the goodies. I saw your Pilot VP at Binder's table. It's an interesting pen but my writing style just doesn't work with the clip down next to the nib. I love my Kaweco Sport. I've converted mine to an eyedropper and it's a perfect jeans pocket pen.

I saw a Parker Frontier on Amazon for way below its RRP earlier in the week, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to play around with a fine nib. It arrived today and I don't know whether to wait on the Parker Royal Blue ink arriving before I get it inked up or fire it up with a cartridge of Quink and clean my other Parker out in anticipation of the bottled ink arriving. Unsure if feeding the 45 from the bottle will have an effect on cleaning up the nib after the filling, with the nib being partially covered and whatnot.

Unfortunately, I'll have to commit the cardinal sin of the Nib Acquisition threads and not post a photograph. However, I WILL acquire that pen, in the not to distant future, that I deem interesting enough to post a photo of!
