Next razor choice

I currently have a Futur and a Muhle R89 and I like them both, but I want to see if something else will work better for me. Both of the razors work great on my face with each having it's own pluses, but neither works especially well on my neck. The hair on my neck tends to grow relatively parallel to my skin this area is relatively sensitive. I can make 2 passes without any real irritation when I go WTG, but making 1 WTG and 1 XTG pass definitely creates more irritation than I would like and really doesn't give me a super smooth shave. Any ATG passes definitely cause large irritation

I was thinking of trying a Merkur 39C. My logic was that I would be able to get a closer shave with the 39C without having to go XTG or ATG. The risk I guess is that the slant will be too aggressive and I will have discomfort even when going WTG.

I should mention that of all the blades I've tried, I always go back to the Feather's. Everything I've read tells me that they are pretty aggressive, but they are just so sharp that they slice through my beard with the least amount of irritation as anything I've used. I guess that is why I'm thinking I might be ok with the more aggressive slant head.

The other razor I was considering was the 12C open comb....

What do you think? Is there something else I should be considering?

Is there any DE more aggressive than a dialed-up Futur?

If that isn't aggressive enough, have you considered trying an SE or injector, or a straight?

I hadn't really considered that. I guess I could give that a try, but I found that I get a few more nicks when I dial up the Futur due to the blade exposure. It was a long time ago though when I last tried that so maybe it's worth another shot.

Gave it a couple tries and I would say it was an epic failure. I dialed up the Futur 1 notch (4.5) from my usual (3.5) and the results weren't good. Felt like a noob all over again...nicked myself about as bad too.

It was certainly more aggressive, but it was definitely due to the increased exposure. I felt like I couldn't even get the head to the proper angle without the blade digging into my skin.

Is this going to be the case with all aggressive razors? Is the "aggressiveness" achieved only through increased blade exposure? My original thought in looking at the barber pole slant was that the angled blade would provide more aggressiveness without the big increase in exposure. Is this true?
