The Federal Trade Commission has sought to foil a takeover of shaving startup Harry’s. The panel sued to block its $1.37 billion buyout by Edgewell Personal Care, the maker of Schick razors. Harry's, according to the FTC, had managed to disrupt a “comfortable duopoly” between Edgewell and Procter & Gamble, the maker of Gillette products, since going online in 2013. The startup, which has since expanded its sales to Target and Walmart, agreed to the purchase in May as an alternative to going public.
