What's new

News Websites?

What do you guys like for news websites?

I have always used CNN, but cant stand the new site so I am looking for something else. I do like Reuters UK for a more international perspective.

For national news online I read Fox News and Wall Street Journal. For international news Stratfor is great.

Google News.

It keeps me surprisingly abreast of current events (as evidenced by decent scores on Wait! Wait! Don't Tell Me!) and allows me select multiple reports on an issue to average out bias (kind of a news version of dollar cost averaging).

The number of stories per category is customizable. You can dig deep into a category by selecting it. It's nice.

I rarely use one specific site anymore. Instead, I use an RSS reader (NetNewsWire) and I subscribe to a number of different feeds from different sources. That way I get the news I want without having to deal with all the fluff or excess that doesn't interest me.

I just use the news feature of bing or google.

For a laugh i use the onion (i dont support everything found on this site)

+1 Google news is great and customizable. But the #1 feature is that you can see hundreds of other news stories on the exact same subject. I like the Dollar Cost Averaging analogy. And being able to get non-US perspectives is great... I've become a big fan of the British, Australian and New Zealand press to give me the perspective that the rest of the world sees.

I like Npr.org though I usually prefer to listen as opposed to reading. My local public radio station has the big name NPR programs as well as BBC worldservice and some other programs based outside of the US.
