What is a good starter pen/ink for a new guy to learn on? Where else(not that i would go anywhere else) is a good source of information on pens and ink? Thanks in advance.

Another vote for the Goulets a great site and full of information.
As for a starter pen, what is your budget?
Lamy Safari, Lamy Nexx, Pelikan Pelikano, Platinum Plaisir, and Platinum Preppy are all great starter pens that accept both cartridge or cartridge converter.
Pilot Namiki Blue, Private Reserve, J.Herbin, Parker are good inks that generally work well in any pen.
Perhaps start with one of the many ink sample packages to see which ones you like.

Welcome to The Nib, Knock! I would give another vote for The Goulets, they have a great site, and are great people to deal with. As far as information on pens and ink, there are many guys here that are a wealth of information! I am sure you can have just about any question answered here!
