What's new

Newbie post

Hi,

I haven't shaved properly for the last ten years. What can people suggest as a good place to start? I'm looking at possibly getting a safety razor and a nice, easy shaving foam, preferably from the UK.

Thanks,

Jim

If you want to buy British you can pick up an Edwin Jagger from connaught shaving. Or Executive Shaving. Executive Shaving also produce their own razors.

For a British shaving cream and brush - check out Body Shop. Pretty decent.

Welcome aboard!

I agree that the Edwin Jagger 89 series (pick an appealing handle) is a good place to start. Since you are going British, you should also check out Simpson’s brushes to see if one appeals. I would also pick up a blade sampler pack or two. That’s it for hardware.

In terms of software, you can go with canned goo or you might pick up an appealing British cream (tons of options) or a soap (perhaps something like the excellent La Toja stick I used this AM).

Then off to the races!!

Welcome back to the madhouse Jim. :punk:

La Barbiera have the new Super Formula Proraso soaps and creams, and Cella, etc. All their prices include free UK shipping. (I don't have any connection to them apart from being a customer.)
