Newbie ? on TGN knots

The overall height that is listed on many of their knots is quite high. Does anyone know how much of the knot is typically below the top of the handle? I see that the plug is about 8mm, but I am curious to how much of the hair can be below the handle. I guess I am trying to figure out what heights can yield which lofts. Thanks in advance!

See the posts in my sig. Might give you some insight into loft vs density etc...

Hopefully something there to assist you....

There's no standard for how deep a knot hole is , anything from 8mm to 20mm on the ones I've restore. Often you'll have to either drill out or shim the knot hole to get your desired loft depending on the brush and the chosen knot.

I have two of the 22mm TGN 2 band finest knots. One set at 44mm the other at 49mm. Part of the attraction of a custom made brush is, you decide the loft.
