Newbie looking for custom razor purchasing advice !

Hello everyone,

I've recently joined the B&B forums in my fascination regarding straight razor shaving! I am currently looking into what to buy and how I can get that to Dubai, UAE as efficiently as possible. So if anybody has any thoughts feel free to PM me any advice :) it would be highly appreciated

But this thread is regarding some fabulous custom designs, and I wanted to ask the veterans what they think of the quality and the following types of custom blades.

Pardon me if posting links isn't allowed, let me know if that's the case and I'll fix it... but here are some INCREDIBLE designs, and if I were to buy a SR I would love for it to be unique like these (I'm definitely willing to pay more for something like the following)

So any thoughts on such custom razor quality, how easy they are to hone in comparison to simpler designs, what the best way to go about acquiring such items is, or any other feedback would be HIGHLY appreciated! :)

Kind regards,
Leo

All pretty cool. The third is pretty much a hart steel razor blued with gold stampings, not as custom as the other three.

None should be hard to hone as the spine and edge look aligned and not much of curvature.

The first one may require the most attention when stropping, but if the maker has balance down it may be fine...

as far as acquiring, get in line and open your wallet when your number is picked.

The first one is what I tell all newbies start with lol. Don't go less that 300 bucks on the practice strop also. I keed, I keed.

They all look really cool, but the proof in the pudding is in the eating. And with razors it's all in the shave. Before plunking down your money be sure to do some research to see the razors shave as well as they look.

Welcome to B&B btw!!

I just realized that the second is not a typical straight

Looks like a carbon fiber jacket frame back. Don't know if that's a knife or a razor and how carbon fiber is honed.
