What's new

New York Shaving Company

Hello. I came across shaving creams by the new york shaving company and they look good to me. Does anybody have a tub? If so, what do you think of it? I'm thinking of getting the tonsorial scent. I live close to new york and also wanted to check out pasteur's pharmacy there, but I figured I could save that for another day. I think if I buy online, it would better because I won't have to pay the NYC tax since I live in new jersey and tax is only charged online if the item is being shipped to the city that the store is in. It would be great to try a sample or see it sitting on a shelf so I sent an email about a sample and I was hoping you guys could say more about it. There is one review I found for the tonsorial cream in the reviews section on here that rated it very highly. I want to see an ingredients list as well and could not find one. I found one for the unscented on west coast shaving, but other than that i've only seen the ingredients list for ol' saint patrick's scented cream and I think it was an old formula since now the site claims that they use no sulfates or parabens and that presumably outdated ingredients list I found on another forum lists sodium laureth sulfate as the second or third ingredient.

Also, ive heard the tonsorial scent smells great and I like the fact that they use organic aloe and shea butter. I've never tried a cream with shea butter in it before, but I think it would be worth a try. I've heard it compared to Mr. taylor's, but I don't want to buy TOBS for reasons that need not be said here since that's a whole different story.

I read it was "OK"..and not cheap..try it n write a review...there used to be a code at checkout..but try on Google for any current ones

I have watched mantic59 use it on his live shave video on youtube. So that must mean that it is better than okay.Who knows I have been wanting to try the Old St. Patricks one.

I've heard that one irritates some people's skin, but maybe they reformulated it since then. I sent an email about samples. Hopefully I can try before I buy.

I dont know about it irritating skin but I would still buy the 4oz one which is $18.00 on there website. The 4oz creams are cheaper than the 2 oz ones if you factor in the cost per oz. If they have samples I would love to get a sample or 2.

I wase pif'd a tub awhile ago but I found it was irritating my skin. It burned a lot, especially after the first pass. This also happened to me with mamma bear soaps. The lather was good but in the end, I pif'd it away. If they did reformulate I might give a try again at some point.

I'm waiting for a response email since I just sent it out today. I heard the customer service is great. I've read on some threads on here that samples are available so hopefully it works out. I'll let you know when I get a reply. If I like it enough, I'll definitely buy it online since like I said in the first post, I don't want to pay NYC tax and also there's no 20% discount in the store I assume but there is an online 20% code. Can you link me to that video?

wow great video. I'm watching it right now. I can't believe i never came across it. thanks for the link.

I got a reply back. Their customer service is excellent. Samples are available. I sent an email back with my address and samples will be sent out soon i'm sure.
