New Tony Miller strop. Pic heavy with review

I think it is a given that B&B knows that Tony makes a great strop so I hope to provide a bit more. I wanted to show some good close photos so anyone on the fence could see the quality for themselves. The hardware and leather are really top notch. The linen is fantastic and must be sourced from a different maker than most as it is a tighter weave. It really sings under the blade and is a pleasure to use. The draw of the leather is light and has a creamy feel to it. Very positive; you can tell what is going on with good feedback.

I have three strops from Tony and they are all superb. The Steerhide/Linen is my all-time favourite. Mr. Miller really is The Strop Master.

This is the razor that got the call for the maiden voyage. A Hart 7/8 round point made from steel they sourced from Tim Zowada. I chose this razor because I know its performance well and am familiar enough with it to be able to reliably gauge the strop. I first honed the razor on a coticule performing a full dulicot. Pre strop it was shaving sharp but it wouldn't have been the most pleasant experience. :glare: After the linen the change was minimal, but detectable. After the leather, WOW! I viewed the edge before and after as closely as I could under my USB microscope and quite frankly the view-able differences are minimal at best, but the feel is vastly improved.

I like mine too. Tony and Torolf of Scrupleworks make the finest razor strops I have ever used....period. Both are true gentlemen.

Congrats Brian, she is a beauty!

God I've wanted a 2 1/2 inch steerhide from Tony for forever. I have a bridle by him but that steer is calling my name. Soon...

Beautiful strop btw. Congratulations.

Great strop and razor!

TM's website says the linen is not currently available in 3", so you're fortunate to have been able to obtain one. I have three of his strops and the workmanship is superb. It's also the lightest draw I have found in any cowhide.

I think I got in just under the wire, before he ran out of the three inch linen. After I tried my first real linen I was hooked. Not sure where he sources his as it is very different from Scruppleworks or Walkin Horse linen. Tighter weave and really sings on the razor.
