What's new

New to this sort of thing (filling Eversharp Symphony)

So I got a NOS matched Eversharp Symphony pen/pencil set. I think the lever is used to fill the pen, but how does one cause the ink to flow in order to write?

gravity and capillary action do all the work for you, you don't have to do anything but write, and it will come out all on its own

Just got my first lessons in loading a vintage lever filler this week.

Pay attention to the way the lever is hinged. If, the lever moves towards the nib when you lift the lever, it fills with one action. If, the lever lifts towards the barrel's end, you fill will a few actions.

Pulling the leaver down does not begin filling the pen it squeezes the air out of the sac, you need to put the lever back to the body position while the entire mib is submerged in ink all the way to the grip so when the sac starts to re inflat it will intake the ink and not air, it can take up to ten seconds to fill so leave it under for at least that amount of time
