New SOC Boar

Just got a new SOC boar. My third boar.

Awesome brush! Dense knot, great performer, excellent lather. Did not realize how large this brush would be! Very happy with my purchase.

Love mine - perhaps one of my softest brushes. I was put off at first with the size, but now, not an issue.

Yes, the size can be off-putting at first, but once you use it wow. It is a lather machine. I did not realize how dense it would be too. very nice.

That brush will just keep on getting better. It quickly became my favorite boar, if not my favorite brush overall.

I'm just a couple weeks into mine, still breaking it in, and it gets better every time I use it (which would be every day, but I'm trying to let it dry between uses). Loving it so far. How long should I expect before it reaches full potential?

Well, I gotta tell you, I love the brush Pre-break in. Can't imagine what it will be like after break-in!

Face lathering with a SOC is great. I hope Semogue never stops making the SOC boar.

Maybe I should get a backup.

Not a bad idea. I have the cherry handle, maybe the next one will be ash!
I have two SOCs, one in each handle. Even though they have identical knots, each has a unique personality. I got them both slightly used off the BST around the same time, and both have had the same break-in and about the same usage.

The ash handle has really soft tips, but is a tad floppy. The cherry is slightly scritchy, but has kept its backbone.

Both are terrific performers, despite their differences.

I'd strongly recommend anyone considering a boar brush to get two of them, so that one can be drying out while the other is in use. They need not be the same make or model.

I've had mine for a couple of months now. Nancy boy is my go to summer cream, and this SOC lathers the pants off of my other badgers in comparison. Brilliant.

Despite of the denseness of the knot, I have found that this brush dries nicely within 24 hours after use too.

I just traded for one, and couldn't be happier. What a brush! I've used 3 other boars (an Omega and 2 Semogues - a 1305 and a 1460), and the SOC absolutely buries all of them. I had fallen in love with my 1305, but I guess I just didn't know what I was missing!

I used mine today. I had it listed a while back on BST and no one bit. I pulled it out of the closet this morning and used it with some DR Harris Arlington and had an excellent shave. This is one mighty fine brush.
