New soap for ultra-sensitive wuss skin?

Hi guys I'm brand new here. I'm glad I found this place, it seems full of knowledge and I'm looking forward to learning.

Anyway, I'm coming up to the end of my bowl of Trumper sandalwood soap and while I really like the Trumper brand (soaps and creams), it's all I've ever used for the four years I have been DE shaving, so I thought it might be a good idea to get some recommendations and try something else.

I have incredibly sensitive skin, especially under the neck and although the Trumper soap I have used has given pretty good results I am wondering if there is something better. I was considering getting some Prorasso white since that seems to have a reputation for being good with sensitive skin.

Do you guys have any recommendations?

Art of Shaving unscented is hands down the least irritating soap I've ever used.

Note that I have not yet tried Mitchell's Wool Fat, so I can't comment on that. A lot of guys with sensitive skin absolutely love it, but it contains lanolin, which causes a reaction in some people.

The Proraso in the white tub worked very well, but I just didn't like the smell so I only used it a few times.

I don't have sensitive skin, but the Valobra stick is very mildly scented, and gives a very protective lather.

Kell's Original (unscented) is the mildest soap that I have used. This is a glycerin based soap. Not sure if he ships to the UK though.

MWF and Proraso white, as mentioned.
Mamma bears unscented.

+1. The Miller's Wool Fat (MWF) is very, very inoffensive, and the Proraso in the white tub (sensitive skin) is likewise very kind to the skin and nose. I love the Mama Bear soaps I've used so far, so the unscented glycerin would likely be great.

Institute Karite is basically unscented (smells soapy) and is loaded with shea butter. That might be good. Also, Pre de Provance is sage scented and sage is said to be good/calming for the skin.

I had horrendous skin before I started to wet shave the correct way and had problems in the same areas you have. I use a T&H pre shave and shave in the shower. This got rid of any irritation in that area. Also anything lavender works for me. Shaving creams and aftershaves with lavender are good for sensitive skin.
I ordered Mama Bears lavender shave soap last night and will get it this week to give it a try.
I can actually see skin without rashes and redness again.

I have very sensitive skin by my neck and a very heavy beard. I would recommend MWF soap and Mama Bear's unscented, as mentioned previously. Both are high quality soaps.

I'd avoid Proraso like the plague: it contains both borates and menthol. MWF's softness is caused by lanolin, which might provoke irritation with some. My suggestion would be to go with something that contains as little as possible: Cella, Valobra, P.160. The latter two contain almond fragrance which can cause irritation with some; but Cella contains just a teensy amount (it smells rather yucky, I'm afraid, but has a large following of users). If you have deep pockets, T&H Ultimate Comfort or the new Coate's creams may be worthwhile suggestions; and with extremely deep pockets (read: 'my bank statement is written with at least 7 digits') Martin de Candre.

Soaps which contain just a bit more but are still low on extra stuff known to cause irritation while still considered good shavers: Pré de Provence, Valobra stick, Speick stick.

Define what you mean by "sensitive skin".
For most guys, what they think is "sensitive" skin is really just "badly treated" skin, and a regimen of quality products and better shave technique cleans up most of the problems.

I hear you. It's not that I'm having any problems as such. I do get the odd bit of a rash on my neck everynow and then if I rush things. The reason I emphasised the sensitive nature of my skin is that I am looking to try other soaps that may be even more gentle than Trumpers, since I am coming up to the end of my current bowl, I might as well.

Thanks for all the recommendations everyone. By the looks of it, I am going to try Mitchells Wool Fat first.

I find Miller's Wool Fat to be very offensive. Mitchell did a much better job with his soap...

+1 on this. MWF caused my skin to dry out for several days after using it. Some people simply can't handle that much lanolin.

I would say stick to Trumpers. Go with the one you currently know and use or try the Rose or Violet. Very mild and very gentle.

I was just kidding; there is no such thing as Miller's Wool Fat as far as I know. Mitchell's Wool Fat, however, is great.
