New Semogue Boar 830

Saw a post by Leon in his vendor's corner indicating that Semogue has a new boar brush model 830. Argh... just got a 1305. Apparently the 830 uses the same bristle as the 1305 in the same 22mm knot size, but has 10% more bristle packed in there.... AND is has an awesome looking acrylic handle!

Anybody thinking about getting this one?.... just got my 1305 and love it, but that acrylic handle is looking good...

Someone stop me from acting on my SBAD!!

Wrong place jrowen if you really want to resist buying that brush. Wrong place indeed... :lol: But I understand where you're coming from, SBAD is my worst AD by far. I can resist others easier.

Yeah.... now that's exactly the talk down from the ledge I'm lookin' for :001_smile

No other reasons than:
1) I can.
2) It looks awesome. The maroon handle is something different from Semogue. Most of the others are clear and black.
3) It is similar to the 1305, which I'm lovin', but with all the talk regarding the wooden handles & paint quality issues, the acrylic handle has some appeal as a daily-use tool ("oops, I dropped it... oh well, it's acrylic!"). Don't get me wrong, still love the look of the 1305 and haven't had any quality issues myself yet. I do have the older 1305 before the new paint though (differences between older and newer were pointed out by Leon in another post), and it did come with some "character" marks. :001_smile
4) I still can.
5) It still looks awesome. (apparently YMMV, though)

I would rather buy something different... but thats just me. You have something very similar already, i doubt u would notice an increase in performance. But if you want it just bcause it looks cool then, i suppose there is no hope for you! :001_tt2:

I just placed my order for the Semogue #830 yesterday before they're gone...I tried to resist it but just couldn't any longer...

No, I don't think it's an LE. Leon didn't make any statements to that effect in his post. I think its just something new.

There may be hope yet.... I asked to be stopped, you guys have me hesitating now :)

Yeah, I like this size loft compared to the 620, which is why I originally opted for the 1305. And though it is similar to the 1305, it isn't the same knot according to Leon's post.

Must... resist... I don't know how much longer I can hold out... :)

Thanks! Congrats to you too! Apparantly we'll be 830-ing together! Semogue has some really nice boar brushes lately, and I really like my 1305. Can't wait to try this one.
