new semogue 1305 staining lather

I am very happy with my 1305 . I've used it with my mama bear shave stick and tobac. A very fine feel and makes a very cushy lather . but when I squeeze the lather out it has a darkish black stain in the lather . I am only on three uses . Is this usual ?
Thank's

Yes. The brush manufacturers put a preservative or anti-bacterial in the hair to prevent mold/rot, etc. Sometimes I swear it's good old fashioned moth balls. Anyway, there are threads about what you can do to speed up the cleaning. You can put dishwashing detergent in it to help clean it out, and Borax, or just use shaving soap. Leave the lather in overnight. Wash it out the next day and keep making lather. Once the lather color is normal, let the brush dry out between lather batches. The stink can hang around too. But, don't worry, after a few weeks you will have a wonderful brush.

This is normal for the first few shaves it's because of the dye in the bristles, it will stop and it won't hurt anything.

the "faux badger" bristles are dyed to make the dark banding and you may notice some bleed for the first couple of latherings. rest assured that it goes away.

Tonight I will lather it up with tobac and leave it in . I also forgot to mention the small (((irritation:blushing:))) when using the mama bear with it . I hope that stops too .
