What's new

New restorations. what do you think?

Just got finished restoring some old brushes. I used ace shaving bristle knots to keep the nostalgia with these brushes. $brushes 001.jpg
from left to right are a Ever-Ready 200t, Plymouth, Ever-Ready 79 , Ever-Ready 150, and a Made-Right 100.
Please give feed back on watch ya think.

Very nice they look brand new. I've been kicking around the idea of doing restores and that pic may be the straw....

These knots perform very well especially with hard soap cakes like Williams or VDH . The knot reminds me of Omega brushes.I loaded these brushes with Williams hand lathered With the soap cake and worked up a nice lather damn close to arko lather. Did not notice any shedding of the bristles. As far as wear ability time will tell I guess if I dont decide to sell them

. The one thing I do kick myself over is the every-ready 200t I put a scatch on the back side with the dremel tool

. I have a couple of more I have done and will post pics tomorrow of them as well.

Restoration of brushes is fun and frustrating at the same time. You should try it porp.

Actually just read the restore the how to and it convinced me. I'm into new hobbies and making stuff. I just started wet shaving this week and just got all my stuff 1 week ago. I actually ordered an ever ready last night via eBay so I plan to tackle this as soon as it arrives. And I'm also watching a couple auctions on there for some more. Haha.

And so it all begins.

Looks great! Those are ready for the next 50 years of service. I had an Ever Ready 150 that I ruined while drilling out the knot. The bit caught and drove through the bottom! I had a 300 PBT that I didn't want to damage so I sent it to Rudy Vey for the restore.

Ok as promised here are the other brushes I have done. $Brushes 001.jpg
from left to right are a Solid Set with bristle knot, a barbershop with a fine badger knot from te Golden nib, and a Ever Ready 200C with a black badger knot from the golden nib as well.

My personal favorite's of the bunch.

Easy to see why they're your faves. Real nice work. I dig those TGN knots. Enjoy!
