I received an email from High Proof saying that a new version of its razor will be coming out soon. The website says 5 days. There is a photo of it. No details - just a photo. It looks very interesting!
Seems like sensible tweaks to reduce drag and improve balance of the handle. But why replace the magnetic pivot with a spring after hyping the magnetic version so much?
[email protected]Does anybody have high proofs customer support email address. I can’t find it on their website. Thanks
The spring is my concern as well. And I was hoping that someone would make an OC pivoting head razor, but apparently not this time around either.I like the ridged cap design, bigger magnets to lock that top cap down more securely, and the wider slots to allow more flow through but not optimistic about the spring. I have the original with the magnets instead of the spring and I find the resistance ideal & near perfect for myself. I’m glad I bought mine (and a 2nd for backup) when I did because I no longer see the old model available at their website.
Still shows 7 hours for meI’ve been watching the countdown on the website for a week. I saw that the new version was said to be sold out and assumed that was because the countdown was still … well… counting down.
I was logged in when the countdown finished ready to place my order. To my dismay I found that the new version remained sold out. There is only an ability to give your email to be notified when it is in stock again.
Very odd. Unless I am missing something. Thoughts?
I had no problem with that. Yet another example of YMMV.I didn’t like the original under my nose. And I don’t think version will address the nimbleness unfortunately so I’ll pass.
Good question. Do let us know if they respond to you. Cheers WalDid anyone else ask if the new top cap is compatible with the old razor? And if they will sell it separately? I did and haven't heard back yet.
Thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately due to magnet placement and upgrades the caps and handles will not be interchangeable.
