The Presbyterian
Even though most Presbyterians I know are teetotlers, there is a drink named after them.

Ingredients
1 1/2 ounce of Blended Scotch Whiskey
1 ounce of ginger ale
1 tablespoon of club soda

Directions
FIrst put ice in your glass then add the Scotch, ginger ale, and club soda.
Then stick a wedge of lime on the rim of the glass.

Ta-Da.

Hm. Not sure what the point of adding the smaller bit of club soda would be, with the ginger ale being carbonated on its own. Sounds a bit too fizzy for my liking. Scotch and ginger ale though sounds interesting... I'm certainly familiar with scotch-n-soda (red label only), and often thought it could use a little sweetness. Might be something to try.

Where'd you hear of this recipe? Sounds like there might be a story behind it.

I prefer just Scotch and Ginger Ale, however, the official recipe has both.

The "press", as a lot of bartenders call it, is as old as the hills. Usually it's made with bourbon or rye but there's no reason why scotch wouldn't work as well (brandy works great too). Usually, it's half and half soda and ginger on top of the booze. Always lemon for garnish. Nice tall drink because the soda cuts the sweetness of the ginger ale - good when you're going to be having more than a few of them. :thumbup1:
