New Daily Shaver Arrived….is this a G1?

Well I picked up what I thought was a late E, but may be a G. It was only $7, cleaned up great, and solidified my love for this era of Injectors! Just as smooth and effective (yet mild on the skin) as my 1940 E2….so much so, I think it will replace my L1 as my daily.
If anyone knows, I’d love to know what I have here.
This definitely confirmed that the first E I tried months ago which was so rough to use had something seriously wrong with it.

Issat a seam running atop the handle? If so it's plastic and a G.

G stands for good razor!

It's a beautiful 1948-49 G1 still in its "deluxe" red gift box.

How we know?

- 1946-47 "Schick Injector" stamped on spring (yours says "Eversharp-Schick")
- 1946-48 G1s were sold in cardboard boxes
- 1950-54 G1s were sold in red plastic (styrene) boxes with transparent lids
- 1952-54 Newer G1s came with a round ferrule on handle instead of the classic squared one

This not taking account of the various LE Christmas editions.
