New cologne from Brooks Brothers

I just tested a new cologne from Brooks Brothers, called "News York". I thought it had a great fresh scent, but it seemed very low key and like it perhaps might not last, or like someone might have to be within 2 inches of you to detect it. Does anyone out there have any experience with Brooks Brothers' new scent called "New York?" And if so, How much staying power does it have?

I've got the cologne and the balm. It's a mature, understated scent, good (I'd say) for business. Longevity is about average for me. BTW -- almost did not purchase this because I found the initial early notes unattractive, but half an hour later it settled down and mellowed considerably. Like all BB scents, I think it's best described by a quote from a young lady elsewhere here -- "It smells like old money."

Thanks for the feedback. I got a paper sample sprayed with the stuff and liked it. My only question is this. I had to get real close to the sample to get a good whiff of it. Does the stuff have enough horsepower to be detected by others around you?

B&B fragrances usually last quite a bit due to their synthetic nature. I would not worry about longevity. The cologne will react differently on your skin rather than on paper.

I used it today to remind myself about it. What I said before was from memory. I have a lot of frags and rotate through them randomly. Anyway, I think what I said earlier is accurate, except that it did last longer than most scents on me -- it's now 10 hours later, and I still get it. As to projecting out toward others, this is not the kind of scent necessarily designed to do that. It doesn't shout for attention. It is understated, reserved. Not a date cologne, but I'd guess it's as accessible to others as any other scent would be. Hope this helps.

That helps a lot. It's exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks. To my scent receptors it had a wonderful fresh, clean scent . . . while being quite sophisticated about it. Not too sweet or cloying. To me it had a bright, youthful, energetic quality to it. I think it would be appropriate for any age group. I'm going to get myself some.:thumbup1:
