New Cigar Book on the Shelf- "Churchill Style: The Art of being Winston Churchill"

The Count of Merkur Cristo

B&B's Emperor of Emojis
I know there are be a few cigar / pipe books or magizines 'gracing' your coffee tables, but I'm reading and enjoying a new (hardcover & 240 pages), book about Sir Winston Churchill by Barry Singer..."Churchill Style: The Art of being Winston Churchill";

"One of the most iconic and endlessly fascinating figures of the 20th century, Winston Churchill has been the subject of any number of books, but none of them have analyzed his lifestyle as a way to really understand the man. This book features a vivid and entertaining timeline of his public history, but also focuses on the more personal, nonwork aspects of his day-to-day life, covering topics such as autos, books, cigars, dining, fashion, home, libations, and pastimes. Churchill lived an extravagant life, but in reality did not have much money. His ability to live well beyond his means is a lesson that will intrigue many".

"Reading is to mind what exerciseis to the body. Joseph Addison

I purchased and read this book this past summer.

Being an avid Churchill and cigar buff, i really enjoyed it. The book is different than most other Churchill biographies out there. It is less about events and reflects more on Churchill's tastes in clothing, cigars, imbibing, writing, travel etc. It focuses more on Churchill's personal life than public. The book follows a chronological order, starting with early life and and tracks his interests through the passage of time.

I thouroughly enjoyed reading this and would recommend.

'right out of my mouth'!! :thumbsup:

And also being a "avid Churchill and cigar buff", I beleive that without the 'Grandfather of Cigars' (and the most famous devotee of RyJ cigars. In 1946, "Their flagship vitola of the brand is named in his honor and forever known as the Churchill"), many a smoker would not to had the pleasure of 'his' cigar.

Other than what you said...(this book was 'hard' to put down), a very well balance book with interspeeds of the 'other Churchill' and his way of life.

"Smoking cigars is like falling in love. First, you are attracted by its shape; you stay for its flavor, and you must always remember never to let the flame go out”! Sir Winston
