New Butterscotch Chubby 2 Synthetic Arrived

Mine arrived today. Absolutely beautiful. The knot is a couple millimeters higher in loft than my cream version and has a bit more splay out of the box than my cream has now after 7 months of (almost) daily use.

The higher loft may make it worth the extra expense ... I wish these Butterscotch versions were more readily available.

I wanted the loft that was on the prototype -- 54mm -- just so there'd be that extra little bit of play in such a dense knot. I asked the vendor to check stock and luckily he had one. It works well at that loft, just as the original testers testified.

I was noticing while having all my Simpson's standing together that the Chubby 2 Synth is really a combo brush. The handle is all Chubby 2 but the knot is the exact same size as my Duke 3 in Best.

Makes me wonder what a Chubby 2 Synthetic knot the size of the Chubby 2 in best would have looked/felt/lathered/shaved like.....
